Blue ocean · Digital Thakur

Your buyer asks ChatGPT before they ask Google. It names three vendors.

The research phase of a B2B purchase has quietly moved. Buyers open ChatGPT or Perplexity, ask who the options are, and get an answer naming three companies with no ads and no page two. This engagement is about being one of the three.

Whether this is the right engagement

Right fit if

  • Your category has a real research phase — buyers compare before they contact.
  • Your Google rankings are holding but organic traffic is falling. That is AI Overviews absorbing the click.
  • Competitors get named in AI answers about your category and you do not.
  • You sell something considered enough that a wrong recommendation costs the buyer money.

Wrong fit if

  • You want the certainty of a Google Ads dashboard. This discipline is roughly where SEO was in 2004. Anyone selling you guaranteed placements in AI answers is selling you something that does not exist.
  • You are a local or transactional business. Your buyers are not asking an LLM which plumber to call.

What you actually get

Prompt baseline

50 real buyer prompts run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. Scored for whether you appear, how you are described, and who beats you.

Monthly tracking

The same 50 prompts, re-run monthly, so movement is visible rather than anecdotal.

Entity and schema work

Organisation, Person, Product, and FAQ schema so machines can parse who you are and what you sell without guessing.

Content restructured for extraction

Direct answers near the top, clean headings, comparison tables, defined terms. Models lift structure; most Indian B2B content buries the answer in paragraph nine.

Source presence

These models cite a predictable set of places — review platforms, Reddit and Quora threads, industry publications, and structured directories. We build presence there deliberately, and legitimately.

Monthly citation report

Where you appeared, where you did not, what the model said about you, and who is being named instead.

The work, broken down

Four workstreams run through the engagement. This is the full list of what happens inside each one.

Baseline and measurement

You cannot improve what nobody is measuring. Most brands have never seen what AI says about them.

  • Fifty buyer prompts built from your real sales conversations, not guessed keywords
  • Run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews
  • Scored on three axes: whether you appear, how you are described, and which competitors are named instead
  • The same prompt set re-run monthly under identical conditions so movement is visible, not anecdotal
  • Share-of-voice tracking against your three main competitors

Entity and technical layer

Making your company machine-legible, so these systems do not have to guess who you are.

  • Organisation, Person, Product, Service, and FAQ schema implemented and validated
  • Entity consistency audit across every place your brand appears on the web
  • Knowledge panel and business listing corrections
  • Crawlability and extractability review — can these systems actually read your pages
  • llms.txt and robots configuration for AI crawlers

Content restructuring

Models lift structure. Most Indian B2B content buries the answer in paragraph nine.

  • Answer-first restructuring of your highest-intent pages
  • Comparison tables, defined terms, and clean heading hierarchies
  • FAQ blocks written against the actual prompts from the baseline
  • Statistics, original data, and quotable claims that give these systems something to cite
  • Author and expertise signals on every substantive page

Source presence

These systems cite a predictable set of places. We earn presence there, legitimately.

  • Review platform presence and profile completeness
  • Community presence on Reddit, Quora, and category-specific forums
  • Industry publication placements and expert contributions
  • Structured directory and listing coverage
  • Digital PR aimed at citation-worthy mentions rather than link volume
  • A monthly citation report showing where you appeared, where you did not, and who is being named instead

How the engagement runs

Week 1–2
Baseline

Prompt set built from your real sales conversations, then run and scored. You find out exactly what the models currently say about you. It is often the most uncomfortable document of the engagement.

Week 3–4
Fix the machine layer

Schema, entity consistency across the web, and technical extractability on your own site.

Month 2–3
Fix the source layer

Content restructuring, plus earning presence on the third-party sources the models actually pull from.

Month 4–6
Compound and report

Monthly re-runs, gap-closing, and expansion into adjacent prompts as the picture moves.

What changes

  • You know, monthly and specifically, what AI assistants tell your buyers about your category.
  • You get named in a growing share of the prompts that matter.
  • Your site is structured so future models can read it without effort.
  • You are early in a channel your competitors are not measuring yet.

Questions people ask before signing

Is this just SEO with a new name?

It overlaps and it is not the same. Traditional SEO optimises for ranking a link. This optimises for being extracted, summarised, and cited — different structure, different sources, different measurement.

Can you guarantee we get cited?

No, and that is the honest answer. I can guarantee measurement, the technical work, and the source strategy. Anyone guaranteeing the outcome is describing something they cannot control.

How do you measure it at all?

A fixed prompt set, re-run monthly under the same conditions, scored the same way. It is directional rather than exact, and it is far better than not looking.

Why the six-month minimum?

Model training data and retrieval indexes refresh on their own schedule. Three months of this would produce a report saying "too early to tell", and I would rather not take your money for that.

Start with a diagnosis, not a proposal.

Thirty minutes. Bring your numbers and your current plan. You will leave with a straight answer about whether this engagement solves your problem — including when the answer is no. A scoped written proposal follows within two working days.
